Hello, and welcome to
In this room. I will ask questions that I "Want to Know."
Question 1: This One's For Mr. L: How Do I Make A Podcast??? I've already made an account on GCast, But Now I Need To Know How To Make The Actual Podcast!!!!
You need a few things:
1) a microphone (there are many different ones to choose from, but you need to get something that is made for a computer- some mics are for stage and they need to be powered).
2) a sound editing software package (You can download Audacity for free on the internet. If you go with Audacity, you'll also need a program called LAME (but it's not lame, it's really cool)).
I've got some links that I'll organize here for you because there are some nice sites online that have public domain materials like songs you can use in your podcasts for free. Once you've made a recording using Audacity, all you have to do is save your project as an MP3 file and upload it to your gcast account.

Question 2: How and why do you need LAME for audacity?
It's a little utility that takes your audacity file and converts it to an MP3. You don't actually have to do anything with it other than installing it. Once that is done, you will have the option of exporting your Audacity file to MP3. The first time you do this, Audacity will ask where the LAME library is (That is the only time you'll hear me say lame library in the same breath).
Question 3: Ummmm... I forgot! Oh yeah! : What was that program that you told me about where you can record your whole screen?
Wink
btw...i like the new graphics you've added. I'm not sure that everyone will look approvingly at the animation of a student copying off another student's test, though. ;)
